This week, the United States celebrated freedom on Independence Day, July 4th. We remember those who fought for independence from British rule and a wordly king. We thank God for our country's unique set of freedoms like freedom of speech, the freedom to bear arms, the freedom to practice our own religion, etc. Now that the wordly fireworks have ceased, let's take a few minutes to continue to pray God's way about the freedom Jesus Christ offers all of us, Jew and Gentile. Let's pray for the people in our orbit who need freedom from:The bondage of sin. Pray specifically for people who have not asked Jesus into their lives and for those who have backslidden. (Romans 6:6) Addiction. Pray specifically for people who are addicted to alcohol, drugs, inappropriate explicit videos or songs, gambling, worry, etc. (1 Corinthians 10:13) Pain and disease. Pray specifically for people who are not physically or mentally well, who are in palliative or hospice care, who are "pushing through" pain without relief. (2 Corinthians 1:3-7) Captivity. Pray specifically for the hostages who are held captive, physically, in Gaza and around the world. Pray for people who are held captive, mentally, by fear, the past, shame, and/or by their emotions. (Colossians 2:6-10, Psalm 27, Romans 8:1) Grief and loss. Pray specifically for people who are grieving the death of a loved one, the ending of a relationship, the loss of a job, etc. (Psalm 34:18, Revelation 21:4)
Be gracious to me, O Lord, for I am in distress; my eye is wasted from grief; my soul and my body also. For my life is spent with sorrow, and my years with sighing; my strength fails because of my iniquity, and my bones waste away. Psalm 31:9-10 But as for me, my prayer is to you, O Lord. At an acceptable time, O God, in the abundance of your steadfast love answer me in your saving faithfulness.
Psalm 69: 13
And let's celebrate the freedom that everyone who believes in Jesus Christ as their Savior experiences every day.
So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you abide in my word [the Bible], you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."
John 8:31-32 Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who practices sin is a slave to sin. The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son remains forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed."
John 8:34-36

As we enter this season of giving, what do you give someone who has everything? We typically think about this question in the context of well-off parents or grandparents who don't need one more material thing. But I challenge you today to think about the question in the context of God. What do you give Someone who has everything? God literally owns everything. He gave us everything that we have—life, material items, talents, spiritual gifts, even people. When someone gives me a gift, I am...
Two weeks ago, I asked, Which Bible verse are you praying today? Many thanks to everyone in our Pray God's Way family who responded. I promised that I'd share the list of verses that our community is praying. I encourage you to meditate on each verse, ask the Holy Spirit to show you what God wants you to know about the verse and how to apply it to your life. You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.Isaiah 26:3 Keep yourselves in the love of God,...
This has been quite a week. It's heavy. I feel like there has been a tectonic cultural shift in our world, and I'm still trying to catch my breath. The world literally shook the day Charlie Kirk was assassinated. (There was an earthquake in Utah on Wednesday, September 10th a couple of hours after his death was confirmed.) If you're not familiar with Charlie Kirk, you can check out his videos via the Turning Point USA, Turning Point USA Faith, and Charlie Kirk Show websites. Please listen to...
